sue_pic-newspaper"I CHOOSE THE RED SHOES"
Stressful changes and changing stresses. How can we keep rolling through obstacles in these challenging times? When life deals you some blows you can always choose the red shoes. Now that I’m in a wheelchair I can wear high heels. RED ONES!
If attitude is everything, then let’s live like we
believe it!

In my signature keynote presentation, I will share with you how I have dealt with MS, cancer and assorted other calamities, and kept on finding the positive and often funny side to it all. It has been said that 10 percent of life is made up of what happens to us, and 90 percent how we react to what happens. I’ll show you how to have a blast with your 90 percent.

"RUBBER CHICKEN SOUP"
Bill Cosby said, "If you can laugh through it, you can survive it." We all know that stress can play games with your mental and physical health. Let me show you how developing a "funny eye", can counteract the detrimental effects of work, home or modern living stress. The clinical evidence is in and it has been proven that laughter can heal our minds and our bodies. Learn how to do more than live through life’s challenges, learn to laugh through them!
"ONE TOUGH COOKIE"
One thing that never changes is the fact that everything changes. Bad times will pass and we can’t make every day Christmas morning but we can learn to make our journey easier. How do we deal with the stresses that will surely come? The last thing we want is to live life as a dollar store garbage bag... busting a leak when the garbage starts piling up. No, we want to be Glad Bags... strong, resilient and able to take the pressure. Resilience can be learned and it can be taught. My seven-step plan will teach you how to see the comical and skim over the worrisome.
"IF YOU HAVE CANCER, YOU’D BETTER LIKE LASAGNA!"
Is it possible to go through surgery, chemo and radiation and not develop an aversion to Italian food? Not likely. People are soooo kind and when they find out that you are battling the big “C", I promise, you will suffocate under an avalanche of casseroles. Little things, like pasta made by friends , make cancer do-able. I’ll tell you what to do if you DON’T have a nice shaped head! Chemo tips and how to survive your hospital stay will be discussed. I’ll even tell you how to get 5 nurses to come skidding into your room at 10 PM.

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO CHURCH ...
Talks For Churches

sue_pic-smile1

I’ve faced a few obstacles in my life. I’ve battled cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, why, our family even had a house fire. My message is simple: Trust God when He says that He has plans for you, plans for good and not for evil... to give you a future and a hope.

My presentations for churches are two thick slices of comic bread with biblical meat middle. I tell stories about my experiences and how by holding onto the promises of God, I can still laugh. I’ll show you how you can too.

"I CHOOSE THE RED SHOES"
Yup, even when life deals you some blows. you can always choose the red shoes. Now that I am in a wheelchair I get to wear high heels ...RED ONES!! In this talk I share how I have dealt with MS, cancer and assorted other calamities. and kept on finding the positive and often funny, side to it all. God has plans for us and even though we may have to walk through the “valley”, we can do it in RED SHOES!!
"RUBBER CHICKEN SOUP"
We all know that stress can play games with your mental and physical health. Our Heavenly Father says, “Let not your hearts be troubled” and He means getting into a flap about money troubles, soccer schedules and even illness. He wants our joy to be full. The clinical evidence is in and it has been proven that laughter can heal our minds and our bodies. Learn how to do more than live through life’s challenges... learn to laugh through them.
"LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS"
Have you ever felt like Dorothy being chased by flying monkeys, in little red jackets? How can we deal with fear when we are shaking like the paint mixer at Kmart? I have learned a trick to overcome the jitters and I'm the scardiest cat you will ever meet. (Hint: it’s got to do with the renewing of your mind and a 3x5 file card).
"THE SECOND GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD"
OK, maybe that’s a stretch but my testimony is a pretty great story. When I get to heaven God will tell me how He made a million separate puzzle pieces fit together but until then I just have to shake my head, smile and say “THANKS”.
"ANDY WILLIAMS, CHINESE FOOD AND A STABLE"
These are the must haves of every Christmas celebrated in our house. What about yours? Do you do it up big, a la Martha or are you the only family in North America who has managed to keep it simple? What happens when our best-laid plans go out the window? Trouble can come on a snowy Dec. 22, just the same as on a sunny day in July. Let’s discover how the birth of our Saviour can be celebrated with joy even if, this year, things aren’t going according to plan. Joseph and Mary had to deal with absent family members, lost hotel reservations and unexpected houseguests. For me, that would have been the ingredient for a crying fit and a terrible Christmas but not for that little family. God gives us better presents then we could ever expect!
